San Rafael and Terra Linda open the prep football season against each other Friday, Aug. 28, with a 7 p.m. kickoff at San Rafael.
The rivalry game headlines a packed two-day sports slate across both schools and Marin Catholic. It is the only scheduled meeting between the Bulldogs and Trojans this season, according to the Marin IJ's full 2026 schedule.
As we reported Wednesday, Aug. 26, San Rafael enters the rivalry matchup with recent success against Terra Linda.
Marin Catholic also opens Friday, traveling to Monte Vista in Danville for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
Friday beyond football
Friday's schedule extends well past football. San Rafael's girls tennis team plays at Redwood at 4 p.m., and Tam visits Terra Linda at 4 p.m. for tennis as well.
Marin Catholic hosts Convent in field hockey at 4 p.m. Archie Williams hosts Miramonte in boys water polo at 4 p.m.

After Friday's opener, San Rafael travels to St. Patrick/St. Vincent in Vallejo on Friday, Sept. 4, at 7 p.m. Terra Linda hosts Mission on Saturday, Sept. 5, at 2 p.m.
