Marin County's first indoor golf simulator lounge is now open on Irwin Street in San Rafael, combining five high-tech simulator bays with a full coworking space under one roof.

Golfery, at 647 Irwin St. between Starbucks and Subway, soft-opened July 15 and held a ribbon cutting with the San Rafael Chamber of Commerce on Aug. 1. Co-founders Kelly Jackson and Colin Read are behind the hybrid concept, which targets golfers and remote workers looking for a work-and-play destination.

The facility features five Foresight-powered simulator bays, including a dedicated PuttView laser putting bay that simulates breaks from 25 feet and in. That putting technology is not widely available on the West Coast, according to WhatNow San Francisco, which first reported on the project in March.

Beyond golf, the coworking side includes bookable meeting rooms, a boardroom, phone booths, quiet work areas and a TV lounge, according to a San Francisco Golf listing. Self-pour beverage taps and a snack station round out the amenities. Golfery also plans to offer simulator leagues, lessons and a happy hour program, and says it will work with local teaching professionals and club fitters.

The business describes itself as Marin's social sports club for young professionals. Current hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.

The grand opening party is set for Saturday, Aug. 22, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Irwin Street location. Admission is free, but registration is required at golfery.com/events.

Golfery joins a wave of new fitness and recreation businesses in San Rafael. Crunch Fitness opened an 18,000-square-foot gym at Marin Square the same weekend as Golfery's ribbon cutting, as we reported Aug. 3.
