A new 18,000-square-foot gym backed by a $4 million investment is welcoming members at 38 Gary Place in San Rafael, giving Marin County a major new fitness option in the Marin Square shopping center off Bellam Boulevard and Highway 101.
Crunch Fitness, which operates more than 550 locations worldwide, built the San Rafael facility in its next-generation "Crunch 3.0" format featuring a HIITZone high-intensity training area, Olympic lifting platforms, group fitness classes, HydroMassage, red light therapy, and 3D body scans.
The San Rafael Chamber of Commerce will host an official ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, Aug. 12, from 5 to 6 p.m. at the gym. Mayor Kate Colin is scheduled to deliver remarks welcoming the business to the community.
The Chamber described the event as a celebration of the gym's grand opening and a chance to meet the team behind the new location, according to its event listing published July 31.
