More than 20 downtown San Rafael businesses will pour local beer, wine, spirits and cider along Fourth Street on Oct. 17. The sixth annual Hops & Vines Stroll runs from 2 to 6 p.m.

The Downtown San Rafael Business Improvement District (BID) organizes the walking tasting event, which turns shops and restaurants into sampling stops. Each ticket includes a tasting glass, samples and a map of participating locations, the Marin Independent Journal reported.

Named stops include Freewheel Brewing Co., Pint Size Lounge, Pond Farm Brewing Co., The Burren House, Pixels Arcade & Taproom and Double Rainbow Cafe at Autistry Studios. Beverage providers pouring along the route include Heidrun Meadery, Humboldt Distillery, Larson Family Winery, Lagunitas Brewing Co. and Local Motion Vodka Sodas.

Freewheel Brewing Co. opened its San Rafael taproom at 924 B St. in November 2025, according to the BID's website. The Saturday afternoon event will be its first stroll as a Fourth Street neighbor.

Streets will stay open during the event. A cable car shuttle will run along Fourth Street between Lincoln Avenue and the West End for ticketholders.

Advance tickets cost $35, with a 10-ticket package available for $250 through the BID's event page. Day-of tickets are $45 and available until 5:30 p.m. at the City Plaza ticket booth at 1000 Fourth St. at Court Street.

The BID has held the stroll for several years, with editions dating to at least 2019. A 2022 city report identified it as one of the district's two profitable signature events, alongside the May Madness Car Show. The BID, established in 2013, represents roughly 700 businesses along the Fourth Street corridor.
