The San Rafael Pacifics punched their ticket to the Pecos League semi-finals with a two-game sweep of the Bakersfield Train Robbers and will host the Martinez Sturgeons in a best-of-three series starting Friday, July 31, at Albert Field.

Tickets cost $10 at the gate.

The Pacifics shut out Bakersfield 2-0 in the opening-round series, according to the City of San Rafael's official announcement published Thursday, July 30. The sweep ended the Train Robbers' season and sent San Rafael into the semi-finals for a shot at the championship.

First pitch is 6 p.m. all three nights. Game 2 is Saturday, Aug. 1, with a third game Sunday, Aug. 2, if needed. All games are at the Andersen Drive ballpark.

Defending division champs

San Rafael enters the series as the defending Pacific Division champion. The Marin Independent Journal reported Thursday, July 30, that the team has shaken off injuries heading into the postseason.

The Pacifics, an independent professional club in the Pecos League since 2012, won the league championship in 2023 and took the Pacific Division title in 2025. A win over Martinez would put them one series away from another ring.

Players to watch

The team's 2026 regular-season leaders include Kyle Guerra, who topped the roster in hitting, and Aki Buckson, who clubbed 10 home runs. On the mound, Jake Dent led the pitching staff with 39 strikeouts.

Community draw

Albert Field has served as more than a ballpark this summer. The San Rafael Chamber of Commerce held an All-County Mixer with the Pacifics on July 23, drawing business owners and residents together around the team.

The city urged residents to turn out for the series, noting the Pacifics are competing for a spot in the championship.
