Every Marin Catholic cross country runner who raced at the Woodbridge Invitational set a personal best.
The Kentfield school sent 14 runners to the invitational at Great Park in Irvine on Saturday, Sept. 19, and all 14 came home with faster times, the Marin Catholic Athletic Department said on Instagram. Marin Catholic’s official athletics schedule also lists the Woodbridge Invitational for Sept. 19 at Great Park.
The girls' squad led the way. Riley Peterson and Chloe Reedy paced the Wildcats as the team medaled across the board and earned team badges, according to Marin Catholic Athletics.
On the boys' side, seniors Graham Meredith-Scharf and Alex Willard finished 1-2 for Marin Catholic. Meredith-Scharf placed 16th and Willard 30th in a field of 245 runners, according to the school’s athletics department.
The Woodbridge results followed Marin Catholic’s first league meet of the season against Tamalpais and Novato. Marin Catholic’s official schedule lists that meet for Tuesday, Sept. 15, at Tamalpais High School.
Meredith-Scharf’s 16th-place finish put him inside the top 20, while Willard placed 30th.
The Wildcats are scheduled to host Branson and Terra Linda at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, at Crown Road Trailhead, according to Marin Catholic’s athletics schedule.
