San Rafael's Winter Wonderland is turning 45, and the city wants local businesses and organizations to help make the milestone celebration happen.
The free event takes place Saturday, Dec. 5, from 1 to 6 p.m. on Fourth Street between A Street and Lootens Place in downtown San Rafael, according to the city's announcement. The city's Library and Recreation Department is producing this year's event in coordination with the San Rafael Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Business Improvement District, according to the event website.
The city is recruiting sponsors, vendors and donors to support the celebration. Three sponsorship packages range from $250 to $1,000, and every package includes an activity booth, the city said.
Vendor spaces are also available. Craft vendor spots cost $100 and food vendor spots cost $250. Downtown San Rafael businesses and San Rafael nonprofits can take part free of charge as vendors or activity booth hosts.
Organizations and individuals can also donate goods or professional services to help put on the event.
This year's lineup includes train rides, live music, visits with Santa, kids' entertainers, inflatables, a tree lighting, face painting and food and drink vendors, the event website shows.
The event website notes a “new date” for this year's celebration. A separate city announcement from early October also described the Dec. 5 date as new but did not explain the change.
